Safe connections in vehicle production

High quality connections are of fundamental importance in vehicle production. After all, the assembly of a vehicle may require up to 2,000 safety relevant bolted joints. The specific demands on the screws and their designs are diverse.

Depending on application, connections may need to be high temperature- and corrosion resistant. Above and beyond that, automotive manufacturers demand light weight designs including the fasteners. Cost, on the other hand, shall be kept as low as possible. Sometimes engineering requires a special design to incorporate several functions into one screw.

More often than not, screws are designed in carbon steels for cost reasons. Stainless steels and high alloyed materials are typically only used if absolutely required.

We therefore make it our job to find the right material for each application and required design. From stainless steels for optimized corrosion resistance, to light-weight materials, to temperature- resistant materials in high temperature applications - also in complex designs for multifunctional requirements.
